The key question for GW8 is about the best Arsenal assets to own, especially for those on wildcard or for those that are not already tripled up.
I will start by saying that I do think Gabriel and Saka are the best two to own. As of right now, we have to trust Saka is on penalties, as well as set pieces, and with Madueke out his minutes will be very secure. If he can stay fit, I expect plenty of returns.
Gabriel has a combination of clean sheet potential, DEFCON potential, and attacking threat. He has also been good for bonus points this season too. His minutes feel extremely secure as well. You can’t ask for much more.
That would then leave you a choice between Raya, Timber, Calafiori, Saliba, Rice, Eze, and Gyökeres for the third Arsenal position.
For me, with him looking like he isn't the first choice penalty taker, and his expensive price, I couldn’t justify buying Gyökeres at the moment - he isn’t a bad hold at all, but I wouldn’t buy him.
I think Raya is over-priced now considering the absence of save points and the upside of a pick like Timber, who for me is probably the 3rd best asset. Yes, his minutes will probably be lower than someone like Raya or Gabriel, but in the games he does start, I think he will offer enough to outweigh the negatives of the occasional benching.
I also think Eze is going slightly under the radar as a pick, given the injury to Odegaard and his overall quality when he is on the pitch. That being said, Eze also doesn’t have pens or set pieces, and he still isn’t fully nailed, so he probably isn’t quite as good of an asset as Timber for me.
My ranking for the Arsenal assets would be:
Gabriel
Saka
Timber
Eze
Gyökeres
Raya
Rice
Calafiori
Saliba

Bruno and Ndiaye both in here makes it feel worse than maybe it actually is. I have lost all faith in Stach but without making another transfer to free up money I am “Stach” with him… (Get it… Stach… Stuck… Stuck with Stach…)
No but seriously, I think things look ok apart from that spot.
In terms of where that money could come from, Tarkowski, Bruno and Raya are the obvious places.
Bruno to Enzo and Stach to Sarr may just feel so obvious it needs to be done. However, part of me still things finding the money elsewhere and keep Bruno is still my preference.
Right now I think I will still just hold and roll for Gameweek 8.
In Gameweek 9, I am considering Raya to Sanchez, Tarkowski to Burn and Enzo in for Stach. However, selling Raya before CRY (H), BUR (a), SUN (a) feels like a bit of a silly idea!

Hello everyone! The international break is finally over, and there are lots of possibilities this week with 3 free transfers. I do also think I might have a bit of action bias this week, wanting to make transfers for the sake of doing something. Anyway, here are my 5 options at the moment:
Roll the transfer
Bruno → Enzo
Bruno & Stach → Enzo & Sarr
Bruno & Gyökeres → Saka & Woltemade
Stach & Gyökeres → Enzo & Woltemade
In order of likelihood, I would say I am currently at 1 > 2 > 3 > 5 > 4. Essentially, the players I would like to own are Enzo, Sarr, Saka, and Woltemade. I think the former 2 are certainly the best value assets that I would like to own, so option 2 does make a lot of sense.
I just wonder if I really need to make any of these moves this week, or if any of them massively upgrade my team. Especially Stach to Sarr, with Sarr facing Bournemouth and Arsenal in the next 2 weeks.
Bruno to Enzo is probably an upgrade overall and frees up some money, so as of right now if I make a move I will probably do that, but currently 55% in favour of just rolling and having 4 free transfers next week to decide what to do.

Bench boost active! A couple of doubts last gameweek (Gabriel and Joao Pedro) made me feel a little uneasy about bench boosting so I saved it. In the end they both played and my bench did bad so that was quite lucky. Hopefully the bench does better in GW8 and of course everyone needs to play.
I’ve got 4 FTs with 0.3m in the bank so I’m very flexible right now, my current thinking is to sell Ndiaye for Enzo/Sarr. Both picks have their merits, no-one has a better non-pen xGI than Enzo among mids and he’s potentially on pens having taken the last one, if not Joao Pedro will be who I also own. It is a bit of a luxury move, it’s not like Ndiaye has been bad with 3G 1A - if I roll then I’d bench Ndiaye for Stach so in essence it improves my bench and has the potential to be an upgrade in Enzo given the previous stat about how he is literally the top mid for npXGI. He withdrew from international duty due to inflammation in the knee though, so I’ll be keeping an eye on that before doing anything.
The other option is Gyokeres to Calvert-Lewin/Foster and Ndiaye to Saka using 2 of 4 FTs. I don’t think it’s worth it because I really don’t want to be stuck with Calvert-Lewin or Foster, once the bench boost is out of the way then in a few weeks I could do a similar set of moves but instead but a 4.3m non-playing striker since I can afford to have the dead spot once the bench boost is gone.

From last week, I do not think anything has changed to alter the top 3 captains here. A Chelsea player COULD creep in but I think this is still my favourite order.
Haaland vs EVE (H)
Haaland feels like a permanent captain right now and despite how Everton have been good this season I cannot look past his form for captaincy this week.Salah vs MUN (H)
Next up is Salah who has been disappointing recently but at home to Manchester United, especially with Liverpool having a point to prove.Saka vs FUL (A)
Number 3 is Saka who has caused all sorts of controversy taking the penalty against West Ham in Gameweek 7. Fulham has been a tough fixture for Arsenal in the past but Arteta feels like he is going into those “bogey team” fixtures with even more emphasis on getting a result as we saw against West Ham. I would trust Saka over Gyokeres.

Le Bris on Alderete: “The tests so far seem positive. He has had a long travel, so we will continue to monitor..”
Ben White was not pictured in Arsenal training which is a boost to those going Timber.
For those looking for an update on other players like Enzo Fernandez, most press conferences take place on Friday so hopefully something useful there although I do expect he will be ok.
