Gameweek 22 Fixtures

  1. Time to buy Chelsea?
This is the start of a good run of fixtures although Gameweek 24 is the real beginning. If you are going early Enzo, Chalobah and Sanchez are worth looking at.

  2. Keep or sell Saka
The best triple Arsenal is Timber, Gabriel and Rice. Saka will never be your biggest issue and with Havertz and Jesus getting more minutes I expect him to get better. Keep unless you need the money.

  3. Best cheap midfielder?
It does depend on budget. Wilson or Tavernier if you have it if not Stach, Garner and Anderson are all close.

  4. What to do with Foden?
With Manchester United and Wolves in the next 2, I would be keeping.

  5. Semenyo at Man City…
For me he’s a no go. If you own and want to see how it goes that’s fine but I wouldn’t buy until we see his minutes.

So I think the team in general looks ok this week but I just don’t have the players that have been returning consistently recently. Thiago, Rogers, Bruno G etc. However, instead of them I have Ekitike and Foden who have good fixtures over the next two weeks.

I think the only transfer I’m really considering this week is selling Cunha. I was pretty set on Bruno Fernandes being the replacement. However, I am just slightly concerned that although Bruno is always a good pick, Manchester United’s form is a concern. Plus with the potential for an early wildcard in Gameweek 24 or 25, Bruno could wait until after he has played Manchester City and Arsenal and be brought in then.

As a result, I have considered alternatives in Tavernier, Enzo Fernandez, Rogers and Bruno G but I think Bruno Fernandes is still the most likely.

Hello everyone! It has been a little while - I hope you are having a good break from FPL after the crazy Christmas period. We are fast approaching blank and double gameweek season, and therefore everything becomes even more team and strategy dependent. For me, I could see myself doing anything from rolling to taking a -4 hit in GW22.

I think the biggest omissions in my team for the coming gameweeks are Gabriel and Chelsea assets. There will be mixed opinions on Chelsea assets, but I will want 3 of them for GW24 onwards, and Gabriel feels borderline essential. The two easiest sells for me are Cunha and Dorgu, therefore I am currently eyeing up that as my route:

Cunha, DorguGarner, Gabriel

The only thing I don’t love about this route is it does give me both Garner and Le Fee, but I think both offer value, and soon I will downgrade Ekitike and I can then reinvest the funds. I could even wildcard in GW24, and Le Fee has excellent fixtures over the next couple of weeks. Of course, if I could afford someone like Tavernier, I would go there.

The other route I have is to sell Saka to Rice:

Saka, DorguRice, Gabriel

This route leaves the structure looking strong, but I just think Cunha is more of an immediate sell than Saka, who I think has been unfortunate not to return more recently.

Of course, I could just continue to go without Gabriel. The team looks decent this week, and if I roll for the next 2 weeks I would go into GW24 with 5 FTs. This would give me the option to either wildcard and have 5 FTs post wildcard, or delay the wildcard and bring in 3 Chelsea without the WC.

Lots to think about, but for now, I would say the most likely option is Cunha and Dorgu to Garner and Gabriel.

Last gameweek was a bit of a disaster though Thiago’s haul helped soften the blow, 7 blanks including Le Fee’s missed penalty. I’ve been rolling the last few weeks though to attack this next period, the last time I made a transfer was Dec 22nd for GW18!

The main players I want in these coming weeks are Gabriel, Bruno, Palmer (maybe). I don’t have enough money for Timber to Gabriel so I’m looking at:

Cunha → Gakpo
Timber → Gabriel

Then roll in GW23, and spend a few moves in GW24 to get Bruno and Palmer in (possibly Enzo instead, not sure on Palmer yet). LIV v BUR is such an incredible fixture so I want to target that, and hopefully Ekitike pulls through to give me double attack.

Harry’s top 3 Captaincy choices this week!

  1. Haaland vs MUN (a)

Despite recent form, I still think Haaland is the best choice. He has 11 returns in 6 matches against Manchester United including a hatrick. Manchester United have also not shown any sort of defensive form recently.

  2. Ekitike vs BUR (H)

Next is any Liverpool attacker, Ekitke would be the favourites but Wirtz and even Szoboszlai could be considered although the latter may have increased minutes at right back with Bradley’s injury. Ekitike returned to the bench fo the Fa Cup getting a goal and an assist in half an hour.

  3. Saka vs NFO (a)

Now Saka’s recent form has people wanting to sell him but if you still own him, he will always be a good captain. Jesus an Havertz being back will likely hand some penalty share back to Saka, he takes set pieces and is great for bonus. He is never a horrible pick.

Ekitike back in the Liverpool squad on Monday night and back amongst the returns with a goal and an assist. Bodes well for holders with Burnley at home up next.

Let’s have a very quick chat about blanks, doubles, chip strategy, and wildcards. Here are the projected blanks and doubles for this season:

  • DGW26 (small possibility for Arsenal and Wolves to double if Arsenal beat Chelsea in the EFL cup).

  • BGW31 (EFL cup final).

  • DGW33 (small double).

  • BGW34 (FA cup semi finals).

  • DGW36 (bigger double).

  • BGW37 (possible small blank)

Therefore, I think the two most popular wildcard windows are likely to be:

  1. GW24 (sort out team structure, target fixture swings such as Chelsea, and attack a potential double in GW26 for Arsenal).

  2. GW32 (dead end into the BGW31, and then wildcard to set up for the remaining blanks and doubles in the final 6 GWs).

All of that to say, I think GW22 is a fine time to wildcard, it shouldn’t be too dissimilar to GW24, just make sure you own 3x Arsenal, 2-3x Chelsea, and maybe chuck Mane in there in case that DGW26 happens!

Finally, I think FH34 will be extremely useful and powerful, so I am absolutely planning on using my free hit in GW34, regardless of WC24 or WC32.
