FPL Wrapped - Our Gameweek 18 Teams

Hello everyone! Early transfers made, and the FPL template ripped up this week following Bruno’s injury. Here’s everything you need to know for Gameweek 18.

1. Best Bruno replacements?

   So firstly there will be a press conference on Wednesday to get an update. Then Saka, Cunha, Rice, Rogers.

2. Is Ekitike essential

   With Isak out for a while, Ekitike becomes very nailed before a good long term run of fixtures. I like him a lot.

3. Saka vs Rice

   With Bruno out and money being easier to come by, Saka is better but Rice will be better value.

4. Best defender to buy?

   Tarkowski. Everton have a great long term run of fixtures now. Branthwaite makes Keane a bit shaken long term.

5. I made early moves should I take a -4?

   Obviously not ideal so close to when we got 5FT. However if you need it to fix issues then of course you can.

So sadly, 2 transfers got used early…

Saka + Thiago to Ekitike and Rice…

Now Bruno is injured. Fantastic…

Now what to do, so luckily I still have 3 FTs available so I can fix it.

I have two routes…

A: Admit I have made a mistake go back to Saka by selling Bruno and Raya (to get the Arsenal spot) and effectively burn 2 transfers.

B: Double down and use the remaining transfers on a combination of Cunha, Rogers and Bowen over the next few weeks and do not go back to Saka.

Right now I’m favouring B, something along the lines of Bruno to Rogers and Guiu to Bowen this week.

Then Raya to Sanchez and Semenyo to Cunha next week.

This would use all my transfers but give me a front 7 of: Foden, Cunha, Rogers, Rice, Ektike, Bowen, Haaland which feels good.

Hello everyone! Quick one today as I’m currently at centre parcs with my family, massive thanks to Oscar for adding this in for me!

As of right now, my plan is to sell Bruno and Thiago for Rice and Ekitike, and then bench Szoboszlai for Rodon/Richards. This would put me in a 4-4-2 this week.

I could of course sell Szoboszlai but I don’t think there are any midfielders at that price I’m much more keen on.

This would give me 2 FTs next week, and I can then hopefully start to begin rolling, or target an improvement in my defence.

I’ve gone early with one transfer to avoid being priced out of what I might end up doing this week.

First transfer:
B.Fernandes → Cunha

Cunha is top in the entire league for npxGI over the last 4 gameweeks, he’s passing the eye test and although Man Utd may suffer a bit without the main man someone has got to score the goals and with such good fixtures I’m happy to move to Cunha.

With a bit of luck I have exact money to buy Ekitike, with these moves using my other two free transfers:
Marc Guiu → Ekitike
Semenyo → Le Fee

Le Fee has LEE (H) and he’s the cheap enabler, to fund Ekitike. He is on penalties and takes some corners so he could be handy, the fixtures aren’t too bad either. These moves also fix a big concern I’ve mentioned before which is the lack of bench depth. Marc Guiu and Ba was leaving myself a bit too exposed potentially, whereas Ba will now be my only dead spot on the bench.

Crystal Palace play against Arsenal in the League Cup on Tuesday night, which is the only midweek game before GW18. Man Utd and Newcastle are the teams we won’t have the benefit of a pre-deadline press conference, due to their match on Boxing Day.
