What to do with Gabriel!
So, the obvious and boring answer to start with is to wait for news. He is already being mass sold and even though yes it looks likely he will not be available for Gameweek 12 right now, waiting for any sort of timeline before deciding is the best play.
Now in terms of replacements if you do need to sell him ranked in order of my preference. It will of course always be team dependent.
Buy van Dijk or Konate - This feels like it will be the “template” move with the upcoming fixtures.
Timber / Calafiori / Saliba - Keep the Arsenal defensive cover for the upcoming fixtures. Timber would be my favourite.
Buy a Crystal Palace defender for their upcoming fixtures.
Downgrade to a £4.0m if you do not have one already to restructure your defence.
Buy Hincape - I would not do this as it is possible Calafiori plays some minutes centrally with Lewis-Skelly coming in at Right Back.

This is why we role transfers because you get decisions wrong and then players get injured!
In Gameweek 11 I should have bought Saka and now Gabriel might be injured… (Although FPL have not put the yellow flag on him yet at time of writing!)
So, the plan is probably to buy Saka for Ndiaye, this still feels the sensible play, I think the only things that would stop me doing this is…
1. Saka was a doubt for whatever reason (He is currently absolutely fine)
2. Enzo was still a doubt so I would sell him instead.
3. Gabriel is out long term and I also got another issue…
Then it is what to do with Gabriel. I have Andersen on the bench so that does cover him nicely if he is out. I also plan on Free Hitting in Gameweek 13 so I do not technically need him back until Gameweek 14 on Wednesday 3rd December in 16 days time.
Now if he is out longer than this I have a few plans already.
1. If he is likely back shortly after that I would likely bench him and look to potentially sell Andersen or Rodon to another defender.
2. If he is out longer term than that until Gameweek 16 or onwards then I would look to sell to either Van Dijk or to Timber. Attack the upcoming fixtures with Van Dijk or keep double Arsenal with Timber.
So for now lets see how the Gabriel news evolves and what the rest of the international break will bring in terms of injuries.

Hello everyone! I am currently in Budapest, so apologies for the shorter team section, and thank you to Harry and Oscar for covering for me! Side note, I highly recommend Budapest if you’ve haven’t been!
This week, I’m really looking to roll if I can, especially with a strong bench. The injury to Gabriel does provide opportunities to move to VVD, Timber, James and pretty much any other defender in the game. However, assuming he isn’t out too long term, he’s a player I want to keep long term so I’d be happy to hold him.
The other reason I’d lean towards not selling Gabriel this week, is that I currently have a big benching headache in the defence where I’m currently benching Andersen, so this would solve that.
In terms of transfers moving forward, given I have £2.7m itb I am looking at upgrades in a few positions. The main two:
1. Andersen -> VVD/Timber 2. Ndiaye -> Mbeumo/Bruno
But for this week, the plan is to roll. Captaincy is an interesting topic of conversation, but I am very tempted to go for Saka in the North London derby, especially as it’s at home.
Plenty to think about, time to get back into FPL mode!

Saka and Thiago joining the team before the break couldn’t have gone much better with 3 goals between them. However I said in that week’s newsletter the risk was my team could become inflexible, with 0 free transfers I can’t afford multiple issues and don’t have as much flexibility in terms of replacements.
Gabriel went off injured for Brazil. The Brazilian Football Confederation released the following statement:
“Arsenal player Gabriel Magalhaes was re-evaluated this Sunday (16) and underwent imaging tests that revealed a muscle injury in his right thigh.
“Therefore, the player will not be travelling with the team to the match against Tunez in Lille. No other player will be called up to replace him” “Arsenal player Gabriel Magalhaes was re-evaluated this Sunday (16) and underwent imaging tests that revealed a muscle injury in his right thigh.
“Therefore, the player will not be travelling with the team to the match against Tunez in Lille. No other player will be called up to replace him”
If he’s out for 3+ games I’ll sell him, the two options I’m looking at are
Gabriel → Timber/Virgil
I don’t think Arsenal’s defence will suffer much without him so I don’t mind the swap to Timber. If he’s out for 1 or 2 games I’ll likely keep hold, and perhaps free hit in GW13 so I’d only be without him for 1 game. In a tight spot Mukiele and Rodon are playable this week so I’d still like to roll if I can.
I’ve got the armband on Haaland currently, but coming around to the idea of Saka (H) given the fixture which can often be a goal fest and Saka has a good record against Spurs with the context of the future (if you subscribe to that kind of thinking).
Semenyo also withdrew from international duty
“Antoine Semenyo's Injury: Left anterior talo-fibula ligament sprain, which was aggravated during the game against Japan. Semenyo was replaced by Prince Kwabena Adu in the 55th minute.”
So I will also be monitoring that, if he has picked up a serious issue then I like Mbeumo a lot (despite AFCON coming up).

Harry’s top 3 Captaincy choices this week!
Salah vs NFO (H).
Now when I was making this I almost did not put Salah top because I am not sure he is definitely the best captain based on recent form. However, if you are going Salah and taking the gamble on him being worth it then I think I would also captain him. It is just I am not sure he is worth buying anyway!Haaland vs NEW (A)
More goals over the international break to no ones surprise. Pope should be back for Newcastle but not guaranteed Burn is suspended and Newcastle just feel in a low moment compared to Haaland’s momentum. That being said Newcastle are much better at home.Saka vs TOT (H)
The Saka hasn’t had a double digit return in almost a year narrative got burnt in Gameweek 11 with a 12 pointer. A decent fixture against Spurs especailly given its at home. Uncertain on the return of Gyokeres and Havertz could leave Saka on 100% penalty share.

Gabriel looks to have picked up a groin injury with Brazil it is unclear on how severe it is and how many, if any, games it will rule him out for. We will wait to hear more news potentially later in the week.

There are mixed reports of a potential Semenyo injury after he was subbed off after 55 minutes in Ghana’s first game of the international break.
A mix of a minor injury and personal reasons in the below two articles confirms he will not feature in the second match and will return to Bournemouth. The initial feeling is it is nothing to worry about from an FPL point of view but one to monitor.

Disaster of the Week goes to Dan with 19 points, though still at an incredible rank after dropping from 180th to 1.6K! Painful gameweek though for sure.
