FPL Wrapped - Gameweek 8 First Look!
Here are our FPL Teams for Gameweek 8
Hello everyone! We hope you are having a great international break! Of course it is still over a week until the next FPL deadline in Gameweek 8 but we wanted to take a first look at our teams with a few probably and some chips being considered as well…

Every week we discusses 1 key FPL question in detail!
So I wanted to discuss the Gyokeres to Saka dilemma. Gyokeres was probably the second most popular forward on Wildcard behind Haaland, maybe Joao Pedro. However, on his 200th appearance Saka took the penalty to get his 100th goal contribution for Arsenal…
You might be able to tell by the way I wrote that, that I think there is a good chance penalties are not locked in at all for Saka and there is still a good narrative to say that Gyokeres could well take some moving forward.
The other thing that’s needed to be discussed is who the other transfer is in this swap. For a lot of people it will be someone like Bruno, Foden or Mbeumo to a forward like Woltemade or Bowen. One of the reasons this looks so appealing this week is the Manchester United fixtures away at Liverpool being a good chance to jump off if you want to. If you want to, its the best time to jump off as from Gameweek 9 the fixtures get better again for someone like Bruno.
Overall, If you are going to make the swap, this is the week to do it because of the fixtures you are probably changing. However, unless you have 3+ transfers and are fully set on selling the Midfielder and buying the other forward, I do not think Saka in for Gyokeres is really worth 2 transfers.

So after the Gameweek ended I was looking at the double move of Saka and a Forward like Bowen or Woltemade in for Bruno and Gyokeres. However, as time has settled I just am not sure that (Saka + Bowen) is much different to (Bruno + Gyokeres). However, this will largely come down to what you think of Bruno as a pick!
So this then leaves me with a couple of options.
The first and maybe most obvious one is to roll the transfer. I could play Stach over Ndiaye to have a better fixture in my team this week as well.
The second is a midfield transfer…
Now Bruno to Enzo or Ndiaye to Enzo might be the most straight forward moves and are both probably upgrades. I do think I prefer Enzo over Sarr especially with the remaining doubt on Palmer’s return. I also prefer him over Kudus based on the upcoming fixture run.
However, I do think Reijnders and Stach are my weakest midfielders so I am considering what I could do to free up the money to get from one of them to Enzo.
So with Reijnders to Enzo I am £0.5m short of this. The obvious place to take this from are Tarkowski and Raya. Raya to Pope gives me the £0.5m but Tarkowski would have to go to a £5.0m so I am sadly £0.1m short of Burn. So Reijnders and Raya to Pope and Enzo is possible.
Or, I upgrade Stach, in which case I am £1.1m short of this meaning I would need to do Raya to a £4.5m Goalkeeper or Tarkowski to a £4.4m Defender in Kilman, Diouf or Alderete.
To conclude, I think the most likely thing for me to do is roll my transfer especially given Enzo is away with Argentina before playing a 12:30 early kick off away against Nottingham Forest, however, options B and C do appeal.

Hello everyone! I hope you have a great international break. I am currently in Greece enjoying a nice break, so thank you to Harry in advance for helping me with the newsletters over the international break.
I decided not to bench boost in GW7, despite it being very close in my mind, and that paid off with blanks across the board! That means I still have BB, TC, and FH left to play, hoping that could lead to some gains in the near future. I am currently thinking BB9 or BB11, and have no major plans for FH or TC.
Here is where I currently stand with players to sell and buy.
Players I would be happy selling: Stach, Fernandes, Gyökeres.
Players that I could end up selling soon: Tarkowski, Ndiaye, Reijnders, João Pedro.
Players I would like to buy: Woltemade, Saka, Sarr, Enzo, Munoz.
I am quite tempted to do a double switch to pivot from Gyökeres and Bruno to Saka and Woltemade, but that does also feel quite kneejerky, and I do think Gyökeres will still score goals over this period. Maybe just doing Bruno to Sarr or Enzo is the better play and free up some funds to use elsewhere.
I also think I could fully justify rolling the transfer again in GW8, given none of the Bruno replacements have great fixtures that I’m desperate to target.
Lots to think about, but plenty of time before the deadline to do so. I’ll have a proper think about transfers options when I return from my own international break!

As long as no issues arise between now and the deadline the plan is to bench boost in GW8 after the break. Dubravka with LEE (H), Mukiele with WOL (H), Stach with BUR (A) and Andersen for ARS (H).
Ndiaye would be on the bench ahead of Stach however I’m planning to sell him in all likelihood. The two players I’m looking at are Enzo and Sarr. My initial instinct was Enzo, because Palmer is still out until November reportedly so he should be a beneficiary in his absence from an offensive (and FPL) perspective, however I’ve just read Argentina’s match has been moved to Miami and rescheduled a day later to October 14th. This means won’t finish playing until the early hours of Oct 15th, and Chelsea play Forest in the early kick off Oct 18th. So some judgment required on whether there’s any possibility of a benching e.g. Joao Pedro as the 10 and George up top or something.
I really like Sarr as well who has consistently delivered really good underlying numbers since the start of last season, 3.2 xGI despite missing a couple games is impressive. He does have Bournemouth though then Arsenal so its attacker vs defender for two gameweeks, I’d probably bench vs Arsenal tbh.

Harry’s top 3 Captaincy choices this week!
I actually think Gameweek 8 is a difficult week to call in terms of results so captaincy reverts to some of the most trusted FPL picks.
Haaland vs EVE (H)
Haaland feels like a permanent captain right now and despite how Everton have been good this season I cannot look past his form for captaincy this week.Salah vs MUN (H)
Next up is Salah who has been disappointing recently but at home to Manchester United, especially with Liverpool having a point to prove.Saka vs FUL (A)
Number 3 is Saka who has caused all sorts of controversy taking the penalty against West Ham in Gameweek 7. Fulham has been a tough fixture for Arsenal in the past but Arteta feels like he is going into those “bogey team” fixtures with even more emphasis on getting a result as we saw against West Ham. I would trust Saka over Gyokeres.

The second Argentina fixture during the international break has reportedly been pushed back by 24 hours due to a stadium change. It is now meant to be scheduled for 1am on Wednesday morning UK time… This is important for a few FPL players in Senesi and Enzo in particular who both play on Saturday after in the Premier League. Particularly Enzo Fernandez who plays the 12:30 kick off. I am not saying they will not start but just keep an eye on their minutes played for Argentina.
Next Up, also at Chelsea, it is being reported that Palmer is targeting a return to play at some point during November and will not need surgery but is still “weeks” rather than “months” until he will be ready. My best guess is Gameweek 12 after the next International Break we might see Palmer back being able to start for Chelsea. There are so good fixtures between now and then for other potential picks in Joao Pedro and Enzo Fernandez.
